Finished up all my fancy motor mount plates and bolts. Been working on where all my wiring goes to, and finishing up the handlebar switches. Been working on mounting up my S1 road race tach to my homemade gauge bracket. I mounted my Dyna rev box to my carb shield. Now just got to find a nice cool place to mount the spark box. I got to figure out a way to mount my rear master cylinder because the S1 rearset plate will have to be replaced with a smaller one because it hits my upswept Bassani pipe. Its one thing after another on this bike. Plus I am missing a few parts I know I have for the rearsets, but can't seem to find them after 30 years of being apart!!!!!

Did a weekend thrash on the Kz. Got my shifter side all worked out. It came out pretty clean looking I think. It still shifts 1 down and 4 up too!! Now my brake side is turning into a nightmare!!!! My Bassani pipe just has too much upsweep to it to use the stock KZ1000S1 rearset bracket. Well its back to the drawing board on that side. Got to come up with a whole new way for the feetpeg bracket, and brake lever setup. Its back to the cardboard cutouts, and staring at it to come up with a another plan of attack.

The oil cooler is now mounted in rubber just like Uncle Rob did on the Kawasaki Superbikes. If its good enough for Muzzy, its good enough for me!!! I was really think about putting the oil cooler back on the tail section just like I had it when I first put the bike together back in '79!!

Thanks to kaw-a-holic, I got my wiring diagrams for my Dyna units. So the wiring is almost finished. Almost!! Still got to wire in RH handlebar switch. Can't wait to fire that puppy up with the Bassani pipe and that baffle. That ought to rattle the windows a bit!!!

I was thinking you could cut a wedge out of the bottom at the collector weld to lower the megaphone and fit the rear sets. 1/2" wedge would drop it quite a bit.

Isn't that a period correct pipe? If so, I couldn't cut it. There has to be another solution.

Hey Doc, not sure how far you are going with the head. I used Short Block Charlies in Tempe to cut new seats and grind valves. He stated my stock valves were in good shape and within spec to grind and reuse. Here is his contact info.

yes, and quite rare in that condition. also the Bassani pipes are "plasma arc coated" under the paint and any welding would destroy this
