At least they repaved the bottom end. Too bad the top end could use a repaving. :(

Last time I went with my car, I got at least 4 runs in. I was trapping at 98mph and even in a car it was rough!

well 2 weeks ago we were going to race on fri. at a 1/8 mile track and it rained so we figured we would go to 42 on sat. well it rained all day so that was out of the question ! well there is alway tomarrow that would have been sun. the track decides they want a day off, hell there only open on the weekend anyway , go figure . so now it is wed. of last week take it to norwalk on wed. test and tune all pumped up pull it off the trailer start to push it to teck and the frt. sprocket was loose which i didnt know the chain hit the cluch actuator and messed it up so i got about 10 feet with it  that night was over so here we are this sat.delieve me thurs. & fri. i went through that bike every nut and bolt this thing is ready .here we are sat. back up to 42 super pumped got 6 runs man let me tell you it pulls hard but found out that (1) i need a slick (2) i need to regear (3) i need to figure out the autoshift . trying to keep the rear tire under it was super hard to do it was spinning at take off and when i hit 2nd gear. i wouldnt have this problem at norwalk , much better prepaired track. but none the less it is a dragbike so put a drag tire on it ;).never used the air clutch i knew that wouldent hook. i was leaving the line at 5500 started out at 6500 that is somthing i am going to have to figure out also. as far as the gearing i was only gaining about 20 mph from the 1/8 to the 1/4 i mite be wrong but that tells me that i am running out of gear plus the fact that i could hear it and feel it. now the auto shift i had a 8000 chip in it 1 time it worked the other times it would only go through 3 gears not sure what the deal on that is? so the best time was a 11.40 and that reflects the tire & gear but i leared alot out of the 6 runs and it will get alot better with some changes. i was useing the airshift but with out a shift lite i was guessing and fighting to keep it in the groove i had my hands full so that hurt the ets also. i can tell that the bike will run 10s all day long with a few changes.my wife had the camara she is not much of a movie maker ( but she cooks and works ) so cant bitch to much ;) but here is what she got and i will take a pic of my best time slip and put it on when i get home tonite. :( i am uploading pics now i will put them on i about a hour or so.

Took me a season and a half to get the 1327 down to 6.15 in the 1/8 with no slick/bar with just a 3" over arm ,1st time my 19yr old daughter took it down the track with same combo after I worked the bugs out of it she ran a freaking 6.20 on the damn thing thing! F-ing kids!      :woohoo:
Of course if I was 5' tall and weighed 105 lbs Id be a freaking horse jockey! :woohoo:

That taller tire we'll hurt your short times getting it rolling, but should give you a little more on the big end.
Id try it with the same gearing and see what it does for you, then toy with the gearing as needed.
Changing too many things at once will leave you with more questions than answers. B)

Jeff,

Download this app and calculate it accurately. gearcalc

Get your ratios from you service manual and measure your tire circumference at the pressure you think you'll run it at. Or for now use Pi x diam.

Take a note book with you to the track and keep good notes and your time slips.

Like Jim said....keep changes minimal...make passes....make educated decisions from your notes.

I expect your cams are going to hold back the bike but by the same notion it should be rock steady once you get your gearing and shifting sorted out.

What's the circumference on the new tire with 10lbs in it?

Between the wrong gearing and the 60' time, there's an easy .8 seconds passed by that yielded no forward momentum Jeff. Once you get that sorted she'll come around for you. That should be a rock steady 10.4 bike all day long, even with the small cams. Just the kind of a bike you can potentially take home the money with and not even come close to hurting it ;)

LERRY I DONT KNOW WHAT THE DIAM. OF THE TIRE WILL BE WITH 10 POUNDS THEY ONLY SAY 27" -7-17. I AM WITH YOU ON THE GETTING BETTER LIKE I SAY IT SPINS THE TIRE IN 1-2 AND THE SHIFTING THING IS ALITTLE OFF. I NEED TO GET THE AUTO FIGURED OUT OR PUT A SHIFT LITE WHICH I HAVE JUST NOT SURE HOW TO WIRE IT?? I KNOW I LOST A SEC. SHIFTING TO SOON ECT. THE MOTOR IS VERY CRISP THE WHOLE WAY. ( LES ) THE CARBS WORK GREAT ALSO I TORE THEM APART CLEANED THE REAL GOOD A BUDDY OF MINE LOOKED AT THE JETS SAID THAT THE ONES IN THEM WILL WORK OUT JUST GREAT I AM GLAD I GOT THEM FROM YOU. TO TELL THE TRUTH I DIDNT CARE WHAT IT RUN THE FIRST TIME OUT I AM JUST GLADE IT GOT DOWN THE TRACK AND BACK TO THE PITS WITHOUT ANY TROUBLE OTHER THAN THE AUTO. I THINK I WILL PUT LIKE A 4500 CHIP IN IT AND RUN IT DOWN THE ROAD NORMALY AND SEE IF IT GOES THROUGH THE GEARS. IT MITE WORK I THINK THAT WHEN I WAS RACING IT I WAS LEAVING THE HOLE AT 5500 - 6000 THE CHIP I HAD IN IT WAS A 8000 LEAVEING THE LINE AND SPINNING IT MITE HAVE SHIFTED IN 2ND AND I DIDNT REALIZE IT SO THEN I LOST COUNT ???? ANYWAY LERRY I HOPE THAT 10SEC. COMES THAT WOULD BE GREAT. AS I SAID ALL A LONG I BUILT THIS TO HAVE FUN AND I HIT IT ON THE NOSE HAD A BLAST :woohoo: THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR THE HELP I WISH YOU ALL COULD TAKE A BLAST ON IT.

well its been awhile figured i check in. about 2 weeks ago we went to the track they were running 1/8 mile that weekend figured it would run pretty good with the gearing i had, so off we went.did run to bad heres the slip

Attachment 054.JPG not found

there was around 50 bike that day some people from mich. rented the track. there was 7 of us and we were the only white people there let me tell you them boys know how to put on a race that track hasent seen that much action in along time some bad ass cars too.i entered the money class the other class was street bikes no casters ect. noing i didnt have a chance but it was what it was.i made it to the 3rd round :woohoo: and got my ass handed to me but happy to make it that far. the ones i beat where crutch rockets. then all i seen was a 10" tier go past. last night we went back up this time 1/4 mile i havent got the slick yet waiting till winter.so i took the sprocket off the orange bike and put it on this one i had a 15 on and i put a 17 on figured that would help, first run was a bad one just getting the feel for it. 2 runs later i ended up with a milestone for me a 10s :woohoo:

Attachment 050.JPG not found

man did that feel good the gear change made a big diff. i ended up with this one for the night

Attachment 053.JPG not found

i could have ran more but it was about 2 hours between rounds alot of cars.i think if i would have stuckaround i could have got 10.50 well anyway figured a would show the progress so far
