I may try and figure out a way to pressure test it after I get it sealed. Not to sure how I will go about that, will have to give it some thought between now and then. Thoughts??

as a matter of fact i do  !

use a bicycle innertube and cut about 18 inches out of it,keeping the schrader valve.clamp one end off(pvc pipe cap with innertube stretched over it and a hose clamp to seal the one end) and clamp the other end around your petcock spigot if you have one.
then the inner tube gives you a schrader valve to fill it with some air ,

and,

most importantly!

it gives you a sense of what kinda pressure the tank is seeing, and holding, while you spray the surface with soapy water while looking for bubbles that will indicate a leak.

i have built my own tank and used this method to pressure test it

i have heard that ten pounds can distort a tank and that 4-6 is optimal.

i never tested the pressure because by having about 18 inches of the inner tube clamped on one end and clamped to the tank on the other end i new the tube would keep the tank from buckling.
because you can see the tube swelling up.

hope i explained this so you get the picture  .

Been a few weeks since I updated the thread, so figured I would post a couple updates. The 900 has had me a bit distracted (actually been waiting on some parts), but it kept me busy.

Mounted the new triple tree with the pressed in KZ stem. (Thanks Leon!) Fits like a glove.

Got the tank coated, with Red Kote and it came out pretty good. Pretty simple process. A couple pieces of advice for anyone wanting to do it. Do it in an open area, the fumes are super strong, and they tell you to use two quarts to start with and drain out what doesn't stick, but I can tell you for sure that a single qt is plenty for our tanks.

Now I know why they call it Red Kote!!!

Slosh and sit.. slosh and sit... very exciting stuff!

Here you go... Didn't like the mount I was working on so I decided to go a different direction and had these pieces cut out at my local water jet shop. Guy says, do you have CAD file, I said.. sure do.. and handed him my 8.5x11 drawing, lol

Parts came out nice, and was done same day. I have a few other things I will be getting done for this project as well.

I will be adding two upper support as well from the center to the upper corners of the frame. Should be done this week with that.

Here she is, rolling on her own now. First time out of the garage. I still have the rear end set as high as possible and will be lowering it with lowering lings. I just wanted to make sure I had the flexibility to raise or lower as desired.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the comments. Its coming along nicely. Won't be long and I will be putting it back together permanently!!

camaroguy, Im not completely happy with the sets at this point. The pedal definitely needs to go down some. I will probably bend it down a bit, or I may make some plates that allow me to set it back and turn it down some. We shall see...
