easy for me to say no it looks slick like it is. but if I were doing it I would keep going til it was too much lol

the silver would tie it together. my girl always says try it you can always go back and paint it again (obviously she likes sanding lol)

I may have to take you guys advice and polish them up and see how it looks. Will need to get it sat in the frame first so we have a good visual. :)

I will have to do some research on the best way to polish this stuff up.

Jack, if you want a mirror shine on them, just do a three stage wet sanding (600, 1000, 1500) and then follow up with a buffing wheel (got my bench buffer from HF for $32) using a soft metal polish compound. The trick after is keeping them like that. I understand a beeswax based wax (not a polish) will keep them protected and won't dull the shine. Don't know where to get that. The closest I found was a a Carnauba/Beeswax combination. Don't know if Carnuba wax is good for aluminum or if it dulls it. Do not use a silicone based wax on aluminum. It will dull it. I am doing my forks like that right now. And I find that if I do a good job on the sanding process, the mirror shine with the buffer comes easy. The engine looks awesome!

Thanks Joe.. I figured I would definetly start by sanding them down and smoothing them out. I have a buffing wheel, so I can get that done. I just hope my patience holds in there.. lol

If I could get them to look half as good as this it would be a success..

These are gwolever

Feeling a little energetic tonight and maybe a little stupid as well. My buddy was on his way over to give me a hand, but well... what can I say Im also a little impatient! Got a hand from my 13yr old daughter to help me slide the mount bolts in. Nice she has some interests. I will let you know how sore I am in the morning..

Prepped and ready.

and done...

Looking good for sure, can finally get the rear lined up and buttoned up, then get to work on the electrical. Progress baby... progress...

Thanks guys! Coming along 4 sure... The way the bike is sitting now is pretty much the stance it should have all said and done. I have the forks slid down 1.25" to accommodate the new upper.

I'm stoked to say the least, getting the motor in (although a long way to go) is a big steep to help finish off the fab work and set everything in place.

BTW I need a top front motor mount bolt, anyone gone one? :) Im sure I can order one or get maybe find one at my local yard.. Maybe I will check tomorrow.

Thanks again for all the props and support!

Jack
