I think it was built to support 02~ ish 750's. They all are 50mm forks so I would assume they would work. I would be willing to give it a try!!

acording to this chart. the 750 and 1000 use the same diameter fork.

Yes sir, as are the ZX10's, so I would think it a GXSR bottom trip just may do the trick!

How long are these forks compared to the typical stock length of our old KZs?

In other words you need to either lengthen the forks or make triple clamps that drop way down to compensate for the missing length. If not, you will lose cornering clearance, something that isn't available in abundance even in stock form.

Sorry for the none technical answer... Lol. You are correct. Between the fork length and smaller wheels, you definitely lose some clearance. Triple clamp is a good way to make it up.

I know this will throw a wrench in all theories but,I have a 081k gsxr front end on my bike and havent really noticed a issue with either dragging header or pegs and or handling?I am by no means a world class rider but consider myself pretty decent.with the lighter overall weight of the bike, better tires with the modern wheels and, oh boy alot better brakes?

u can lose a couple inches for the forks then another 1 3/4" for the 17" tire (3 1/2" divide by 2 = 1 3/4")
i chose the go with the longer zx9 forks. then i massaged the top tree to gain an extra 3/4".

Modern sportbikes will be able to run their tyres not only to the point where there are no chicken strips, but quite a bit beyond that. If you, running radials, scrape things before using up all of the rear tyre and have more than 1/4 in of chicken strip remaining on the edges of the front, I will say that you have a clearance issue that will be noticed during every halfway spirited ride on a winding road. The wider the chicken strips, the greater the clearance problem, of course.

As I was waiting for my pant to dry (another thread) on my 900 I got to work on some new rear set mounts for the 1000. I originally had some T-Nuts welded to the frame, but just wasn't happy with setup, and I wanted the sets a little lower and possibly some adjustablity.

Here is what I came up with . They are not finished yet. I need to clean them up and figure out if I want to put another mounting hole in the end so it would have two settings one low and one a little higher with more angle. I think I might wait to get the engine set before I make that decision. Add some spacers to support the bottom and get some proper bolts to match everything.

Other then that, they are a little thin so I might remake them with some 1/4 that I have. If I do that I may need to find some thinner swingarm nuts.

Silver accents look good.

Question on your rear sets. Have you put your feet up or stood on them yet? Curious about them flexing being that you are using spacers as that's exactly what I was going to do on my 750 lol

Julian,

The way I had them setup before yes. They where pretty solid, you can see that a few pages back. In the current config no, as I do not have the spacers in place yet. Once I do, I will give it the once over and report back, but I suspect they will be just fine.
