yeah i mean like set the thing in a old kiddie pool with a tarp liner...or the like set up...i think it would catch a lot of it......we drove out to the beach and i was taken a pic for the guys winter sucks thread.:P
And this older guy pops a bucket out of his trunk and walks over to a dune next to the rangers parking lot and starts dog paddling it full ...walks back to his car puts the bucket away and closes the trunk...

there is a big section of road where the workers have to shovel the wind swept sand back into the park...i figure a flat shovel and a few buckets and i'll be getting the finer wind swept stuff.....worth a try...the stuff at depot is cheap enough but looks like ground rock sand...ie...made....as opposed to nice dune sand.......

i bet my blaster would flow better and work the compressor less...we'll see.....

guys paint the frames all kinda colors and not to be mean but then you are stuck with it....it is like painting the house purple....okay if you can live with it 20 yrs...black looks good with trick stuff forever imo....

Sift that play sand or beach theft sand through a window screen to get rid of any larger pebbles. Those things really screw up your blaster. And make sure to wear a respirator of some sort. Silica is not good for you to breath.

If you don't know what color you plan to paint the bodywork, I would go with black, its safe :) If do do your sandblasting in stages, may I recommend you get some primer and spray the sections you do get blasted to prevent any flash rusting. That way you don't have to re-blast the frame after it's been sitting around accumulating oxides.

When you re-paint, get some masking dots for the many ground places. Many guys forget to do this and wonder why their bikes don't work when they turn the key.

Run a M6 x 1 tap through the welded grounds(nuts) to remove the paint too.

Paint and powder coats are non conductive and need to be removed for good electrical conductivity.

The bikes are a blast to work on and ride. I bought a busa at the beginning of summer but still rode my Kz more. I have redone it four times now. I'm getting ready to tear it down again for the winter. It's a 1978 Kz 1000 streched and lowered.
