Some things just HAVE to be done and after weeks trying to ignore the fact that the end can I made for the Drouin looked to be perfect for the Café I finally gave in and did the deed.
After a couple of hours with the saw, grinder and welder the transplant was complete.

I think I made the right decision and the Drouin is getting a fatter link pipe and Devil can in compensation.

 Unfortunately i'm a little bit too far away as i'd want your bike to work off.
I'm pretty sure your welder could come up with something though.
Are you going for the same look as the one on your inspiration bike.

ZED,

just read through this thread after you posted a link in the carb boring thread. and wow!!

Thanks for taking the time to detail the small things in the build of a bike that most would overlook. your carb work is very indepth and helpful in my pursuits of speed on my bike. I will probably ask some dumb questions about the carb work here in the near future. until then, thanks for sharing your work. it is very nice!!! continue on with the wonderful bike build!!!

MAtt

Zed

You've been busy since the last time I peeked in on this project. It's working out beautifully. I love it :)

Teeny weeny update.
Exhaust hanger done which took far more time than it should have.
Was gonna just hang it off the subframe but it looked pants so figured that if the footrest can take the riders weight then a stumpy ally can should be no problem.

I've spun the cans outer sleeve round so that the mount is closer to the footrest then made an extended T6 replica heel plate and sandwiched it between the original and the mount with a couple of countersunk capheads and nylocs to tie it together and stiffen the assembly up.

Now need to get the subframe, struts ,side stand and seat pan powder coated asap and then it's wiring ,fuel , some minor jobs and it looks like I might actually get it running for this years one dry day in a couple of months time.
