I'd check some of the Jap Friendly chopper sites (chop cult, chopper underground, club chopper). I seem to remember people cutting out the triple backbone and making it a single with gussets. For all I know their bike taco'd instantly, but I belive this was discussed on one of the forums with a Suzuki GS frame.

I agree that modifying the petcock would be simpler, but if the frame mod is your desire, explore other avenues of opinion.

I decided to alter the tank instead. I've got bigger problems right now. Can't get her running. Either timing issue or pilot jets I think. When I took the carbs off to clean them, I found that someone had filed down the point on the #1 cylinder carb so I'm ordering new pilot jets at the moment.
