Have fun with them bud.
what did u use for the shifter linkage ? the part that atatches to the shifter shaft. 83 GPZ ?

You got that right. Did I mention I bought a boat also?

I made the shift linkage. Initially, I tried using the linkage from the 95 GSXR, but the splines are different. I ground it out a little, but then I couldn't get it tight. I tried searching for a link on ebay, but when I realized that getting the spline right would be a crapshoot, I decided to make it myself rather than pay $30 a piece for links that may or may not work. Here's a couple of new shots so you can see for yourself.

I should have posted a picture of myself after I cleaned the cases. I knew it would be bad, so I donned my bathing suit. No better way to cool off on an August day in Texas than to get the kickback from a pressure washer in all those little cavities in those cases. 99 and 44/100 % of that grunge was on me. Oh yeah, I earned the single strangest injury for me on this one. The pressure hose touched the muffler during this exercise which promptly burned a hole in the hose. It sent a jet of water out the side of the hose headed for my legs. I knew the potential disaster at hand so I quickly grabbed for the damaged hose. Well the hose slipped through my hand and the hole crossed over my right index finger, and blew a hole in my hand.

Well, well, well, look what the cat dragged in. Good to see you back. I bet some folks have been waiting for an update for a while now. Get to work. Street cred will be restored in short order if you can make some progress.

Yeah Leon, "kinda sorta skilled" about sums it up for me! Thanks for the kind words of welcome my friends. And yes, I have a project that desperately needs some continued TLC  Of course, my week is becoming stacked much too quickly..... I need some short days to start clearing out my garage and cleaning off my work benches. Soon though, very soon.
