tk11b40 wrote: So while we are waiting for the KZ to get the Dyno treatment, I have a great oopuritunity to make some KZ parts in the Machine Shop I work in. We have 56,000 sq ft. of bulding seperated into a screw machine dept., Lathe dept., and Milling department.

Here is a good question for you KZ fellas...

If I made 25 sets of rearsets Would you be interested? They would need to be just the bracket part, this is due to the large variety of braking systems used by all of us, each one requiring a different linkage and pedal set-up. So I am thinking of reproducing the footrest brackets I roughed out for mine. You would then need to add pegs, and linkage.

If you do not like that, then suggest something. Our shop would like to take one idea from each Manager ( I am one of those) and see if we can come up with a product we can sell in limited numbers. Experimental stuff.

Suggestions??

can u give us a visual ? do u have a similar mount on your bike now ?
how about a points cover with a slant. like the Yosh ones for road racing. it could say KZ on it or something ?
aluminum motor mounts are popular.
i will email u some pic's/ideas.

That's actually a Moriwaki logo, you can buy Moriwaki points covers straight form Moriwaki. モリワキ

This is Yoshimura's logo: ヨシムラ A Yoshimura points cover would be bitching! I'd buy two, one to hang in my office!

This is a great idea, except for the copywrite problem.

The points cover, would be easy to make, 1 lathe Op, 1 mill op. I just need a different Logo.

I will look into this, the part is possible.

I know it gets complicated & expensive but I've been looking for a dropped triple tree for a mid 90's gsxr usd front end. Thanks, Scott

Mark,

How hard would it be to get permission to use the KZR logo, I am betting they would sell out.

The "slant" makes it more expensive. Is this a casting?

It's all possible.

i would work out a licensing agreement with DYNA and sell directly to/through them. with their LOGO
after I sent all my buds on KZR one

I would buy one that said KZR as well but business wise I think Dyna may have a larger market, although Z1E should step up another good logo I'd display

Agggrrghhhh.

Pretty much over wanting to burn the bike to the ground now. I visited it in the foster home the other day (it is in protective custody).

Next battle.. Lighting. Easy stuff. Track days start soon, then it is shakedown time.

Jetting:

Ok so so far no Dyno run.

Next question. The bike is really lean, the carbs are the stock 29MM round slides.

The bike has been bored to 998cc, has K&N Filters, and a Kerker header, Dyna ignition.

This has got to be a common set-up, so do any of you have a baseline jetting recipe I can copy?

The kicker is I live at 4500 foot elevation, but don't think that is going to make a huge differnce.

Troy,

Mr. Dave is trying to break my heart with the other bike sale.

I am going to need to shoot him in the leg now.

Maybe the wife wants it out of the backyard because it attracts chicks and she gets jealous. In case that isn't what's happening, shoot him in the leg for me too. Troy341
