on standby but just about ready for the next step soon. Very soon. I have been working to prepare one the rooms for the baby coming. I am now dealing with mexican style stain that has covered red oak that originally was incredibly beautiful. Pita to remove. I hope I don't have to resort to bleaching the wood to restain it.
So my priority is to get the room prepared by first redoing the wood and then fixing the plaster and repainting then my neighbor who does wood floors offered to do the floors before October so I guess I got to forget the polishing thing for a hot minute and get on finishing this dang room.
By next week I should be able to spend a few hours a day on the forks, clutch cover and sprocket cover. I got the kickstart piece the can and little nut all of the rest of the aluminum stuff looking beautiful. Shit load of sanding with that fine sandpaper and messy black goo that comes out of the whole wetsanding thing. As soon as the wheel hits the aluminum it shines right up right now! Now that is nice.
I promise more pics by next week.

I PAY MY HOUSE OFF SOON!!!!!!!!!! Thanks to Uncle Sam screwing the pooch on the tax laws they won't process any refunds till today. That means since I filed many months ago it seems that hopefully by Friday I should be in possession of the funds to finish this beast the right way. Hmmm, "I like this let's do it." Not, "how much was that again? Wow, that is a bit expensive. Can't we do it some other way." Once I get this on the rode I am going to do my 79 but this time, hopefully I learned something along the way, I do it all by myself with my own hands putting those expensive parts together. I am sure that I have a long way to go to learn but I have my mentor who will help me out. Right Tri? OMR? Gulp, someone hopefully. lol
You have to pay to play. What was that saying, "It's not how fast you wanna go it's how fast you wanna spend." The 79 is going for the turbo kit and I will be done with the whole kz build thing forever. After that I will have to take out a second mortgage just to keep her running.:woohoo:

Yeah buddy, this year I am not going to miss Mid-Ohio days. I have to go and see what that's all about. I saw that magazine and it got me really excited. I am thinking about doing that clutch cover that everyone is awe about. I think it looks pretty rad.

what clutch cover are you referring to.

I will put more pics up of her going back together. I have never done an engine before. I was going to go around Lake Michigan tomorrow morning yet no go. I was almost ready to go back for that zx14 until I saw they put a bastardized extension on the swingarm. Don't know about that. The bike looked nice enough until I saw that. Nice and low to the ground but I think I would have preferred to have it stock with the exception of a nice pipe for the time being.PLUMMEN wrote:

First I finish the bike, I have a zrx1200r that has some nice stuff done to it but the zx14 will be the next bike I think. Yes, I will have to break down and buy it but next summer. This summer will be the kz and the rex. I put so many miles on bikes that I think it makes sense to have a few around. The rex is a great bike though. I can only imagine what the zx14 is about. I think I might like it too much. I already wish that I would have just put her back to stock form and took that extra cash and bought a fast bike to begin with but I don't regret it. I love these old bikes. Love em.
