Still needs more smoothing, but that's it.

I removed 2" from the length of the subframe, removed the "kick" in the subframe to make it totally flat, and repositioned the drop tubes from the shock mounts to the drop rails. Added a small triangular gusset to take up the space and clean it up a bit.

All that to make the tank and tail level.

If you put the work intothe motor and suspension you have into the frame then this will be a cliche' racer worth taking a look at.

Thanks guys. I was thinking of putting the stock 650 back in it just for something this summer, but I've got plans for something a little crazier in the works too....

Suspension on the other hand is taken care of. I've got a spare GSXR front and rear end laying here from another project that are already converted to KZ spec to use on a 650 frame. B)

Dude, that looks tough! You doing any more gussets? How about beefy engine mounting bolts?

Thanks Justin! I don't think I'm gonna go to much further with the gussets and stuff. It will get one lateral on it under the seat, but that's it.

Galax, yup. that is a GPz tank. I had to cut off the rear tank mount from another frame, turn it backwards in relation to the front of the bike, and weld it to the stock mount to get it on there. :D

The tail piece is from Glass From The Past. It's called the "slippery sam". It's almost 100% perfect... just needs a spacer under the back corner to level it out. :D

Thanks!

CC,

great job!! How about a pic of the tank mount. I have always been partial to the gpz tanks myself so this could really help...pretty please.:)
