havnt rode it yet but the front brakes suck.. I used a master from a new bike (like 2005 gsxr) with the old calipers and spongy as shit even with braided lines. hard to imagine the stock master having more stroke than this 'stock-radial' master.

without dumping the front end what 2 or 4 piston calipers will bolt onto this?

what is a modern totally adjustable (comp, reb, spring) front end / wheel that will just 'drop in'

Fox twin clicker shock
race tech front end with .90 springs
some kind of 4-1 exhaust i packed the muffler as best i could (i hate loud bikes)
tach of an old magna
GP shift pattern by modifying a shifter from ZR-7S
el cheapo aftermarket footpegs
vortex clipons
bridgestone tires

It can be a bear to get all the air out. Took me a while to get it out on my project. I have new brakes with my ZX7 front but I'm using an old master. It took for ever to get it all out.

i had the same problem and after bleeding them 3 times there great now.they will lock up with ease.2002 zx12 master and 1977 gs750 single pot calipers(x2) braided lines.
76 KZ, frame gusset work,1200CC.Ported by Larry Cavanaugh, 1.5mm.over intakes, Carron Pipe, ZRX12 rear end, and seat,96zx9 front end.

I put 83 GPz750 front calipers on my 750 twin with a 96 GPz1100 master cylinder and KZ1000 drilled rotors. No idea how well they work (KZ1000 has larger rotors) as I am still trying to get all the air out :(

Here's a trick I learned while madapting a hydraulic clutch for my 1000. If you unmount the slave cylinder(in your case the brake calipers) and hang them from the rafter or something higher than the M/C all the air will eventually work up toward the bleeders making it easier to bleed. It doesn't hurt to tap the lines everyonce in a while with a wrench or screwdriver to help shake the bubbles loose in the lines.

I have used the reverse bleed many times and it is quick and painless. It works great too. Get a large syringe and a piece of tubing...fill the syringe and place the tube over your bleeder nipple...crack the bleeder and force all the fluid up to the master. It works the first time on most occasions and gets the air out right now!!

I tried the reverse bleed with a syringe last night and didn't have much luck with it. I did shoot brake fluid about a foot above the master cylinder and make an awful mess though :(

I'll use the vacuum bleeder again and see if it improves.

PITA anyway you do it :(

what are your thoughts on using 91-94 octane gas on this low comp motor.. at the track its all i feed my 2007 ZX6R.. but when i have the GPZ there..

mine has stock comp.. which is what.. 9:1?

any advantage to using the faster burning gas, like 87 or 89 octane?

Nice looking bike. Good work. I agree bleeding the brakes are a major pita. Especially for a hack like me.
