Damn your bike is looking mighty sweet... Envious!

You're single right? hahahahhaha
My wife is so sick of my affair with the old girl... I tell her to shut her trap and deal with it... NOTE to thyself: Divorce on the way!

BTW, received my offset sprocket (13.5mm = >1/2") 630 15 tooth from AmericanClassix all ready. I don't know why others have had bad results with these guys but they have rocked every time for me...

Extremely well designed and built. Rear sprocket and chain on the way. Figured I'll only need ~ 102 link or so but ordered 110 link just to be safe, cut and grind as required.
I'll post w/images once I get all components on the bike and aligned...

Thanks Banshee.
Since i got a $300 ticket for having the breather filter in the kick start cover.(for altering the emissions system). I needed to remove the filter and add venting ells ware. I cannot make it legal, but I want to try to hide the obvious. so I decided against adding 1 to the valve cover(witch I think would wok well). I decided to just increase the size of the breather cups outlet. I thought this would be the most discrete method.
Here is a pic of the stock Z1 ,and KZ breather set up. I changed to the KZ since i felt it was less likely to spit oil.

I took the upper disk to work and had 2 new holes drilled and 2 nuts welded to the under side of the holes. Then I drilled matching holes in the cup. This will allow me to screw the cup to the upper plate , to hold the cup on. Then I had the cups vent hole drilled and tapped out to 5/8” NPT. I cut the nipple off the 1/2” threaded nipple so I could fit a ¾” hose over it. The nipple part was not 5/8” ID but the threaded part is. Now I will run a 5/8" or a 3/4” hose up under the tank and T off to 2, ½” hoses. Then I can run the 2 ½” hoses to the back of the bike under the seat.
The venting capacity of the inner rubber vent tubes is :
the rubber vent tubes are about .370 each. x 2 = an area of .21" total.
the stock cups vent stack tube/bolt has an id of .425" .area = .142".
the bolt hole in the case is about .260". (area= .053").(i removed this bolt so this is now more inner venting capacity.so i can add this .053" to .21" to get a total inner capacity of .253")
1/2" hose area = .196"
5/8" hoes area = .307"
here is a pic of the inners, and the cup. I found 2 rubber plumbing tap washers to fit over the new cup fastening bolts.

Besides being one of the coolest ways that I've seen around a problem...what kind of a prick takes the time to check your crank-case vent port for an add-on filter mod??? Where do you live?

"what kind of a prick takes the time to check your crank-case vent port for an add-on filter mod?"

I was wondering this myself... Here in Phoenix, they wouldn't even know what it was let alone that it was modified...

Good question Kaw...

OMR, yeah...I don't mean to thread-jack, but here in western Kansas the boys-in-blue usually just want to ask you about your bike when they stop you. Sure, they're a bit harder on the plastic boys, but seems like they bring-it-on a bit with their antics. But even worse case scenario the 5-oh is just going to give you the hook-up (ticket) if you're speeding more than 10mph over the limit (granted sometimes one's mouth writes the ticket for the officer...but what do you expect). The whole 'modified bike' thing is actually a conversation-piece in these parts...sort of a red-neck version of community policing, I guess.

Makes three of us... Keep me out of that hood. ;)

You have put together the front end I had imagined. Plus the idea of having a KZ fender to boot as a possibility. Perfect. Keep up the good work. Nice to see these mods finished. The candy red pops with the black contrast.

Well . its been a while.Ive been enjoying all of your builds.
I'm back into the motor again.
My ebay 1327 block and pistons were fun.Loads of power. u could feel the frame flex when u shift it hard.
but she blew smoke, so i'm going back to 1200cc's with brand new J&E pistons.
I just finished balancing them. 1 piston was 1 gram light and 1 wristip was .8 gm heavy.
