Hey everyone,

Now that I got approved I just wanted to drop a quick hello from down in North Carolina. Got me a shiny new (to me) 82 Kawasaki KZ1000LTD. First bike I've ever owned, got it from my dad as a college graduation present and looking forward to hitting the road soon. He had almost the same model, only a 1980 as his first bike, so there is a decent amount of KZ sentimental value in our family. Hopefully, with one turn signal relay in the mail and a few hours of tinkering it should be street legal by the time the ice thaws.

Looking forward to being a member of this site, and from learning from those who actually know what they're talking about.

That being said, welcome and good riding! There is a lot of good info here. I live near Portland, Oregon and my rider is a '76 KZ900 I bought new. I'm also in the process of restoring another one and a '73 Z1.

I live pretty out there, so I'll be waiting for the weather to warm up so I can take a Basic Rider Course first. Also not my first bike, just first real bike so I'm hoping the transition won't be too rough!

Good place for some foot rests for those long trips and insurance in case you drop it. Everyone does at least once.
