Howdy Everyone,

Just purchased my Kz750ltd 4 a few weeks ago as a project/commuter bike. I'm in IT was in automotive for a while. Had 1 bike before fz700 Yamaha that I used mostly for getting to class.

Bike ran when I got it, Frozen Gas Cap, Ran real rough but shifted well and seemed to be solid. Cleaned the jets, nothing major beside one being stuck in the carb. Gas tank is rusted and repaired tried to clean it out but pretty bad. Battery weak, so ordered one that needs acid and a charge, plugs and oil need to be done. Sounds like it has decent compression and running on all fours. Hopefully fresh oil, plugs and I will be on the road sooner then later.

Anyways, Got my license, insured, registered. Would love to get to know some guys in the area. I'm a computer guy and car guy so be happy to help with anything related to those. Also decent cook and a dad of 2 boys.

This looks like a great community,

Thanks,

Kam

Kids first time seeing the bike.

Quick History:

Been talking about a Bike to commute to work 11 miles north of the city from my place. Commute takes me little over an hour on the trains, bike should be about 45 minutes each way. GF and the kids went on a trip, same day bought this bike delivered on craigslist for 750 bucks (GF not happy but that's life). Started it up cold, Ran pretty bad, sat for a little while before bike flipper got it. Tore out the carbs, cleaned the jets, didn't do much else. Put it back together, still barely idles, needs jump. Waiting to get new battery filled and charged - (didn't know the battery i got had no fluid or charge, duh amazon..) Need spark plug socket and change of oil which I have. Hopefully that will do her.

Looks like a good running project.

Surprised no one has mentioned checking the vale clearances.

Mine barely ran when i got it. The valve clearances were so bad one cylinder had no compression. Once I got that sorted I was on the road,

I've done a ton since and it needs a ton more but at least I'm riding it pretty regularly.

Good point on the valves. Sometimes I feel like I'm flogging a dead horse suggesting it. Many times the advice is ignored or said the owner doesn't want to spend money doing it. Either way, I move on.
