Hi everybody,
Excited as this weekend I added another bike to the stable--a Spectre. I have had quite a few bikes in the past and still have one other one in the garage--a 1976 Yamaha XS650 that is currently on the stand getting modified--about 3/4th done and just honestly need to get the time to finish it.

Can anyone tell me---Do the KZ1100A and Spectre share any things in common? Frame? Other items? I know the engine is almost identical but other than that wondering in regards to parts. Will a tank from a 1100A fit on the Spectre? Is this the correct manual in the picture?

Thanks everyone!!

Manual. You'd need the KZ1100 shaft manual that covers at least thru 1982.
Kawasaki factory service manuals have a model application chart on the back cover,
so make sure your bike is on the list. 1982 KZ1100-D1.

Here's one that shows the back cover. there are cheaper listed. If a seller doesn't have a pic of the chart, ask.

Just make sure your Spectre is included in the model application chart. I'm not sure if there's a 1981-only shaft drive manual. if so, the Spectre wouldn't be included. Some manuals only cover the 1st year of a production model, while others cover a range of years and are usually just the base manual with supplements added at the end of the main body..

Would you happen to know if that KZ1100A has the same frame as the Spectre?

I don't know for sure, but PowerSportsWarehouse lists the same frame numbers for them.
The frame diagram for each model is showing both of these part numbers: 32002-1376 & 32002-1514.

I prefer the diagrams at Partzilla as they are the easiest to use & have a cross-refrence, but they do not provide the frame part numbers. The Kawasaki.com diagrams haven't been working for the past week or so & the site isn't as good as it used to be.

Perfect, I just went on the Power Sports website and saw what you did regarding the matching part numbers to the frames. I was wondering where to look for part numbers. Thank you again!
