Just getting started here. I have a KZ650 (sr, if that is significant) that used to run but doesn't now. It will again. I am a bike nut, 60 years young, and love motorcycles. If it has two wheels then I can have fun on it. I don't have much in the way of mechanical skills, but I will be learning. I try to do the work on my "simple" bikes like the DR and the BMW's and the Wide Glide.
I live just outside the Adirondacks in Northern New York and do much of my riding there. Each year I try to make one or two longer trips of a week or two. This year was the Blues, BBQ and Bikes Tour. Down south to Mobile, then New Orleans, the Blues Highway, Memphis and finally Barber Motorsports Parkway for the Vintage Weekend.
That is why the trip was important. I had thought I would sell my KZ. But the Vintage Bikes convinced and motivated me to fix it and run it. I know I'm preaching to the choir when I say it is a beautiful bike, but it is. Cosmetically, very nice; all original except for a Kerker header which is period correct, so that's not all that bad, and the sound is very cool.
So, that's about where I am. I hope to hear from some of you and perhaps put together a ride.
Thanks for readin'
There is a purpose for every bike and naturally a bike for every purpose.
