Dyna 111 on KZ1100A

On one of my KZ1100As, the cdi igniter went down, I swapped it out with one from one of the others so I'm back on the road. My question is I have, in a box of bits a Dyna 111 pickup assembly, can I fit this instead of a cdi igniter or do I need the igniter for the advance curve.
The Dyna site has the Dyna III wiring straight into the coils, does it do the same job as my cdi igniter box.
The KZ1100 has breakerless ignition as standard.

Look behind the pickup plate to see if there is a mechanical advance assembly. If there is then the igniter does not provide advance and the Dyna III can be used.

Thanks Ron
My next dumb question, as I do indeed have bob weights behind the standard pick up plate, do I need to keep these?
Does the Dyna III just replace the igniter?
I can't see that it will produce and advance on its own.

KZ1100A's lots of 'em

The Dyna III does not affect the ignition advance. The mechanical advancer must be kept.

The DynaIII also requires a separate ignitor box in addition to the pickup plate. You need that too. The Dyna S has everything inside of the pickup unit, so the S wires directly to the coils.

Also, both the DynaIII and DynaS require 3-ohm minimum coils. Your stock elec-ign coils may be too low resistance.

As Ron said, you need to keep the advancer.
