My 1982 Eddie Lawson Replica

My project is finally done. I converted a 1982 KZ750R GPz to a look-a-like ELR. Let me know what you think.

I don't get it. How do you make a picture small enough in order for the attachment to work?

Maybe, I got it to work now.

I bought the grips from Dennis Kirk. They're relatively cheap ($8.95) and are made by Galindo Designs. They come with a spacer which fits over the throttle part which sticks out. I think you guys may know what I'm talking about. They also have "SUPERBIKE" noted on the grip. It fits perfect for my restoration.

Gorgeous bike. I have just rebuilt the engine in my 82 GP/KZ and the next step is the E.L. paint job. I wish I would have done it before spring got here because now I want to ride it and not have to park it while it gets painted. Are your stripes painted on or emblems?

Very nice.

Where did you get the chin spoiler? That would be a nice addition to my 1000.

kawasumthing,

Unfortunately, I could not find a stripe kit for my bike. I had to have them painted. You know, the pictures don't do justice to what it looks like in person. The green is much brighter and deeper in person.

nitro3custom,

I bought the chin scoop off of ebay from the people listed on the following website for $50. The website is advertising for $69 right now. It came painted red, but I had it sanded and repainted in green.

Thanks for the good comments.

Mad Matt,

Where do you live in WI? Maybe, we could hook up? Do you go to Road America? Can wait to show off my bike this June at RA.

I live west of Port Washington about 5 miles. I'll be heading up to RA for the June race. I've got a buddy coming over from minnesota on his shadow. I moved here from Minnesota about a year ago and have yet to go there. I think there were several other KZr's going. Theres a posting in the Rides forum. Should be fun.
